Revisiting City Of Sighs by Alexis O'Hara
3pm - 6pm, Saturday, September 24th
Coral Short is performing a cover of Alexis O'Hara's piece entitled City of Sighs. Will the artist reach a transcendent state after 3 hours of sighing? Will she no longer hold any stress or tension in her body? Will it all be exhaled? She will be inhaling huge amounts of oxygen and expelling it with different levels of performative force. 10 completely separate sighs will showcase the various emotions and moods of our lives. Sighs can demonstrate emotions such as yearning, wistfulness, relief, disappointment, and sympathy. From love to anger, sighs are a spontaneous welcome release. I hope the audience can live vicariously through the artist's own relief. Exhale.
